A destination rich in culture and history
Moustiers-Sainte-Marie boasts a beautiful historical and cultural heritage dating back to the Middle Ages. The golden star of Moustiers suspended above the village is probably one of the best known symbols of this wealth. The parish church of Our Lady of the Basilica also embellishes the panorama thanks in particular to its architecture and decorative 'four-storey' square belltower from the 12th century, the most important historical monument in Moustriers.
You can extend your historical journey by heading towards the Notre Dame de Beauvoir Chapel. The Stations of the Cross with a staircase with 262 steps takes you to the church, which overlooks the surrounding area. The Chapelle Sainte Anne, the aqueduct and the medieval fountains are other unique places to photograph.
Discovering the natural landscapes of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
Moustiers-Sainte-Marie lies close to the Gorges du Verdon and Lac Sainte-Croix, the fourth largest body of water in mainland France.
